The Croatian pianist Lovre Marušić is regarded as one of the most outstanding musicians of his generation. He gained international recognition in 2021 after winning the Silver Medal at the prestigious Cleveland International Piano Competition in the United States. Further major accolades followed, including Second Prize at the International Telekom Beethoven Competition in Bonn and the award for the Best Interpretation of a Work by Robert Schumann in 2023.
His musical education led him from his hometown of Omiš to Moscow, where he studied at the Central Music School of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and later to Zagreb and Weimar. As a soloist, Lovre Marušić has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Cleveland Orchestra, the Zagreb Philharmonic and the Symphony Orchestra of Croatian Radio, as well as at international festivals across Europe, China and the United States.
Alongside his active concert career, he is Professor of Piano at the Gustav Mahler Private University of Music in Klagenfurt and Artistic Director of the International Chamber Music Festival Ostinato in Omiš. His playing is celebrated for its clarity, depth and poetic sensitivity.
