Our sailing yacht transforms into a concert venue for pianists from the Steinway Artist family, who will perform both on board and for a Curated Moment ashore.

The Croatian pianist Lovre Marušić is regarded as one of the most outstanding musicians of his generation. He gained international recognition in 2021 after winning the Silver Medal at the prestigious Cleveland International Piano Competition in the United States. Further major accolades followed, including Second Prize at the International Telekom Beethoven Competition in Bonn and the award for the Best Interpretation of a Work by Robert Schumann in 2023.

His musical education led him from his hometown of Omiš to Moscow, where he studied at the Central Music School of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and later to Zagreb and Weimar. As a soloist, Lovre Marušić has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Cleveland Orchestra, the Zagreb Philharmonic and the Symphony Orchestra of Croatian Radio, as well as at international festivals across Europe, China and the United States.

Alongside his active concert career, he is Professor of Piano at the Gustav Mahler Private University of Music in Klagenfurt and Artistic Director of the International Chamber Music Festival Ostinato in Omiš. His playing is celebrated for its clarity, depth and poetic sensitivity.

Classical Music in a Historic Setting Concert at the Croatian National Theatre Split

Since 2007, the Steinway Prizewinner Concerts Network has been dedicated to introducing outstanding young pianists to audiences at an early stage of their careers. At the competition in Bolzano in September 2025, Steinway talent scouts once again identified a number of exceptional young artists.

Second prize winner Sandro Nebieridze will accompany our music voyage from 7–12 August 2026, bringing the concert grand on board the SEA CLOUD II to life.

Sandro Nebieridze began his musical education at the age of five in Tbilisi. He continued his studies at the Vano Sarajishvili State Conservatory in Tbilisi, where both his pianistic virtuosity and compositional talent were nurtured. He is currently studying piano at the University of Music and Theatre Munich and at the Accademia di Imola, under the guidance of Antti Siirala and Boris Petrushansky.

Among his most notable distinctions are Second Prize at the 65th International Busoni Competition, Second Prize at the Kissinger PianoOlymp, First Prize at Astana Piano Passion, and the Grand Prix of the Grand Piano Competition.

In 2019, his debut album featuring works by Rachmaninov and Prokofiev was released by Harmonia Mundi, receiving the Tsinandali Prize and a nomination for the Opus Klassik Award. As both pianist and composer, Sandro Nebieridze enjoys international acclaim. His compositions, including the highly awarded Piano Concerto No. 1, are performed worldwide. He regularly appears in leading European concert halls and gained international attention when he stepped in at short notice for Lang Lang at a televised ZDF Christmas concert.

Following acclaimed recitals at Tokyo Opera City, Carnegie Hall in New York and the Royal Albert Hall in London, Aisa Ijiri established herself as an internationally award-winning concert pianist. The music press describes her as an exceptional talent whose European elegance, passionate intensity and poetic expression create a uniquely compelling artistic atmosphere.

Born in Japan, she made her European debut at the age of 15 as a soloist with orchestra in Warsaw, followed by recital performances in Stockholm. Since then, she has performed regularly in renowned venues such as Wigmore Hall, the Southbank Centre and St Martin-in-the-Fields, as well as at major international music festivals. Her concerts have been broadcast worldwide on radio and television.

As a soloist, Aisa Ijiri has appeared with numerous orchestras, including the Osaka Century Symphony Orchestra and the Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom she performed Beethoven’s Fifth Piano Concerto. Several award-winning solo recordings document her wide-ranging repertoire, from Chopin to contemporary music.

She is a graduate of leading European conservatoires in Stockholm and London, an official Steinway Artist, and Artistic Director of international piano institutions and competitions.

She will accompany the voyage from 12–17 August 2026.

A master piano builder by training, Ulrich Gerhartz began his career at Steinway & Sons Hamburg, initially working at the London Restoration Centre. He later moved into the Concerts Department and was appointed Director of Concert & Artist Services in 1994.

He also oversees a programme for the selection, maintenance and tuning of concert instruments in all major concert halls throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland and has built close professional relationships with many of the world’s leading pianists. He worked closely with Alfred Brendel until the pianist’s final concert in Vienna, for which Brendel chose his London Steinway.

In addition to his work in the UK, Ulrich Gerhartz regularly visits the Hamburg factory to select new instruments and travels internationally to support artists performing in the United States, Canada, Australia, Israel and across Europe. In this role, he provides on-site support and ensures the highest standards of concert instruments worldwide.

He shares a long-standing partnership with SEA CLOUD CRUISES and will accompany the voyage, offering guests fascinating insights into the construction, history and craftsmanship of Steinway grand pianos on board.

For more than two decades, Gerrit Glaner headed the Concert & Artist Department at Steinway & Sons and represented the company at international concerts, conferences and competitions.

A particular focus of his work has always been the encouragement and recognition of young talent. In this context, he initiated projects such as the Steinway Prizewinner Concerts Network, Steinway’s Lunch Concerts and, in collaboration with the Ferruccio Busoni Competition, the Glocal Piano Project, which became a pioneer in the digital presentation of piano competitions.

Gerrit Glaner maintains close dialogue with artists across all genres. His extensive experience is reflected in panel discussions, press contributions, jury appointments at music competitions, cultural advisory boards and his work as a lecturer.

He has enjoyed a close partnership with SEA CLOUD CRUISES for over 20 years and will accompany the voyage, sharing his insights into the international concert and artist landscape on board.
