SUMMER MUSIC IN THE AEGEAN

What a backdrop! On your musical voyage from Sicily to the Peloponnese and Cycladic isles, the SEA CLOUD II sails through European history. Ancient sites, medieval fortresses, and magnificent baroque towns provide an impressive backdrop for a series of exceptional concerts. We have invited a diverse selection of major artists to our summer music festival in the Aegean. With them, we will celebrate the power of music – in the atmospheric ambiance of our private yacht and against a classical backdrop. Look forward to the experience of unique concerts!

The violinist made his solo debut with an orchestra at the age of 14 and has been performing both nationally and internationally since then, collaborating with ensembles such as the Danube Symphony Orchestra and the Brunensis Virtuosi Orchestra, conducted by renowned figures like Uriel Segal and András Déak. He studied under Prof. Christoph Schickedanz in Hamburg and Prof. Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet) at the Salzburg Mozarteum, earning numerous national and international awards. Since August 2023, Oliver Rau has been a graduate of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra Academy.

Born in Poland, Łucja Jaskuła is a violist and a graduate of a Bachelor's program under Lech Bałaban at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Music Academy in Poznań. Since 2021, she has been a recipient of the Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation scholarship and is currently studying with Piotr Szumieł at the University of Music and Theatre in Rostock. Alongside her solo work in Poland, she discovered a keen interest in chamber music while being part of the student chamber orchestra and string quartet, "Caprone." Łucja Jaskuła has been a graduate of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra Academy since August 2023.

Matthias Fiedler was born into a family of musicians in Dortmund in 1999. Early on, he had encounters with classical music, earning several first prizes at the national competition "Jugend musiziert." He completed his Bachelor's studies under Prof. Leonid Gorokhov in Hannover, generously supported by the Gundlach Foundation and the German National Academic Foundation. After a year as an academy member in the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, he became the principal cellist of the Staatskapelle Halle in 2023. Matthias Fiedler has been a graduate of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra Academy since August 2023.

The pianist, born in Wuppertal, is a laureate of numerous international competitions. She studied in Brussels, Cologne, and Hannover while furthering her education under Alexis Weissenberg, Tatjana Nikolajewa, and the Amadeus Quartet. Alongside solo engagements with orchestras conducted by figures such as Christoph Eschenbach, Herbert Blomstedt, and Kirill Petrenko, Ulrike Payer regularly performs at festivals like the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. Radio, CD, and television recordings showcase the versatile work of the pianist, who has also made a name for herself as an interpreter of Argentine tango.

Whether it‘s a festival of tango, rebetiko, or chamber music, the music-loving islanders put on an ambitious program every summer.
